夫子庙灯会1986年首次举办，迄今已红红火火连续举办了20年。老南京人有句俗话，“过年不到夫子庙观灯，等于没有过年；到夫子庙不买盏灯，等于没过好年”。

　　目前，“2007中国南京夫子庙灯会”已亮灯，十里秦淮在40余组大型彩灯的辉映下一片璀璨。灯会水上游览线也已首次和白鹭洲公园水系对接，秦淮画舫在桨声灯影中徐徐驶入改造一新的白鹭洲公园，别有一番意境。

　　徜徉十里秦淮水上游览线，灯会四大灯展景区夫子庙大成殿、东水关公园、白鹭洲公园、中华门城堡全都“亮”了起来，造型各异、花样繁多的各式彩灯让人目不暇接。

　　Held in 1986 for the first time, it has been going on prosperously for twenty years. According to a com－mon saying among senior citizens in Nanjing: "It would be meaningless if one fails to go to watch the lantern show in Fuzimiao during the Spring Festival and it would be a pity if one does not buy a lantern in Fuzimiao while visiting it during the Spring Festival."

　　Now, "2007 National Lantern Show in Fuzimiao, Nanjing " has started. Brilliantly set off by large color－ful lanterns of over forty-groups, five-kilometer Qinhuai River presents itself in expansive splendor. Also for the first time, a water-borne tourist route affiliated to the lantern show has connected with the water system of White-Egret Park. Amidst resounding oars and lantern shadows, gaily painted pleasure-boats sail slowly into newly renovated White-Egret Park, generating a different artistic conception.

　　As four major spots of the lantern show along the water-borne tourist route on five-kilometer Qinhuai River, Dacheng Hall in Fuzimiao, Dongshuiguan Park, White-Egret Park and the Castle over Zhonghua City-Gate are all illuminated at night. Various colorful lanterns in different modelings are too many for eyes to take in.
