南京市红山森林动物园位于南京城北，东眺紫金山，南临玄武湖，西依南京火车站，北望幕府山。园内山峦叠翠，地形起伏，环境优美，绿树成荫，绿化覆盖率达80％以上。动物场馆依山布局，与树林巧妙结合，动物笼养与散养相结合，形成城市森林动物园的独特风貌。

　　集动物保护、展览、表演、科普教育和休闲娱乐于一体的红山森林动物园是南京市近年一个新兴的旅游热点，更是人与动物和谐相处的生态乐园，它让人类和动物都回归了自己的古老家园———神奇的大自然。

　　Situated to the north of Nanjing, with the Purple Mountain to its east and Xuanwu Lake to its south, the zoo is close to Nanjing Railway Station in its west and Mufu Mountain in its north. It is featured by green hills and undulating terrains in a beautiful environment. Verdant trees with nice shades cover more than 80% of the zoo which is laid out against hills in ingenious integration with forests. Cage-raised animals combined by those raised in a scatter way constitute a unique scene in this urban forest zoo.

　　Incorporating animal protection, exhibitions, performances, education of science popularization, leisure and recreation into an entity, Hongshan Forest Zoo is a new tourist hot-spot in Nanjing in recent years and, all the more, an ecological paradise characterized by harmonious co-existence between human beings and an－imals who can return to wonderful mother-nature as their ancient home.     曹建新 译
